Judy Mae Donnelly

Judy Mae Donnelly, 85, formerly of Bellaire, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, May 24, 2022 at Sunrise Senior Living Center in Rochester.

   She was born October 29, 1936 in Detroit, the daughter of Walter and Ila (Moody) Metcalf and graduated from East Commerce High School.  She raised a family in Shelby Township and spent many happy years in Bellaire.

   Judy was an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire.  She volunteered in the community and enjoyed leading aerobics at the Senior Center for over ten years.  Judy treasured her family and friends, was an avid reader, and never passed up a game of Scrabble.

   Left to cherish her memory are her children Daniel J. (Virginia) Donnelly, David W. (Tami) Donnelly, Patrick B. Donnelly, Christopher G. (Heidi) Donnelly, Maureen K. (Daniel) Schmelling, grandchildren Nicole, Derek, Christine, Cameron, Nolan, Hunter, Garrett, sisters Beverly Weidner and Adrienne Lewis.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Frank Donnelly, parents, and sister Doris Seely.

 A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 8th at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Bellaire, Michigan with Fr. Chester Collins officiating, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  The family will host a Celebration of Life gathering downstate in the upcoming months.  

In lieu of flowers please send memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans Organization.
