Joyce Runberg

On August 16, 2020 at 6:05 p.m. Joyce Ann Runberg went to visit her Lord.

The Visitation at Holy Cross Church is at 6:00 p.m. on August 31, 2020, with Rosary following at 7:00. The Funeral Service is on September 1, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. outside of the church by the pavilion, weather permitting. Bring a chair to sit outside. Masks are appreciated.

In her early years in Plymouth she enjoyed Marching Band as a drummer. She was in the first graduating class for Nursing at MSU. She maintained ties with all the women from this class. Early in her nursing career she taught in the Bay City Mercy Refresher Course, then on the staff at Bay City General Hospital. The last few years before moving to Beaver Island she taught the L.P.N. Program at the Bay Arenac Skill Center to High School students.

She was very active in the communities she lived in, especially Beaver Island. She started the Hospice Helping Hands Program on Beaver Island in the early 90’s. In Apache Junction, AZ, she also did Hospice work for many years (Phoenix Hospice of the Valley). On Beaver Island, she and Johnny were in the first EMT class. She loved and supported her family in any way possible.

She is survived by her husband Johnny Runberg; daughters Juli and Cyndi Runberg; and son John (Carol). She was predeceased by her sister Mary Gray, brother Bill Carson and parents Delia and Bob Carson. Her many grandchildren are:

Forest Cherven and Willow Riopelle (Justin), Tasha Runberg, Christine Sylvain (Palmer), Joshua Runberg, Daniel Runberg, John E. Runberg, Alex Ledesma, Ben Ledesma, Michael Ledesma, Angelina Ledesma, Andrew Ledesma, Armando Ledesma, Tilarx Runberg, Bethsaida Runberg, David Runberg, Emily Runberg, Brian Runberg, Shilo Runberg (deceased).
