John Shafranski

John Alan Shafranski, 59, of Banks Township, Antrim County, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, in Charlevoix. He was born September 20, 1956, in Mount Clemens to Paul P. and Esther (Bindek) Shafranski. John grew up in Memphis, Michigan and graduated from Memphis High School in 1974.

He worked as a finish carpenter, and most recently as caretaker for a private residence.

John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed boating. He was a member of the Fort Detroit German Wirehaired Pointer Club of Michigan.

John is survived by his sister, Claudia M. (Pete) Matesowicz of Memphis; partner, Julie Mervin of Antrim County; former wife, Debbie (Marshall) Campbell of Lexington; nieces, Jaclyn (Bobby) Stockoski of Clarkston, Caroline (Michael) Hax of Richmond; great nephew Leo Stockoski.

Visitation will be from 4-7pm, Saturday, November 28, at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix where a service will begin at 7pm, officiated by Paul Bradley.
