Joan O'Dea

Joan Marie O’Dea, 87 of Bellaire and formerly of Waterford passed away January 23, 2020 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.  She was born September 1, 1932 in Pontiac the daughter of Harold and Ida Mae (Conkle) Booth.

On December 15, 1951 in Pontiac, Joan married Michael O’Dea.  They raised their family in Waterford and were members of St. Perpetua Catholic Church.  When they retired to Tawas, they enjoyed spending time fishing.  They loved to can it, smoke it, fry it and share it with their family and friends.  They also enjoyed spending time traveling in their RV and spent many winters in it in Florida.   Joan loved to play bingo, crotchet, and watch the birds.

Surviving Joan are her children Daniel (Sandra) O’Dea of Grayling and Nancy (Frank) Dean of Bellaire.  Also surviving are her grandchildren Jesse (Alayna) Dean, Michael (Torrey) Dean, Laura (Phillip) Clinton, Michelle (Michael) Simonson, Andrea (Aaron) English, 8 great grandchildren, and her sister Delores (Richard) Evans of Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Michael in 2003, and her brothers James and Robert Booth.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, January 31, 2020 at 1 p.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 am until the time of service.

Interment will take place Saturday, February 1, at 1 pm at Mt. Hope Catholic Cemetery, 727 Orchard Lake Rd, Pontiac, MI 48341.  A luncheon will follow at Gino's Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, 1999 Cass Lake Rd, Keego Harbor, MI 48320.
