Jessie Sweet

Jessie Louella (Hubbard) Sweet 97, of Moran Michigan, passed away on May 19, 2021, surrounded by family.

She was born on November 24, 1923 the daughter of Merle and Florance (Wade) Hubbard.

On December 14, 1941, she married her beloved Charles “Charlie” Sweet.  They were married 54 years.

She is survived by 2 sons and 6 daughters, Mary Lou Pruente (Danial), Peggy (Sweet) Dye, Molly Burt (Raymond), Patricia Hardy (Richard), Carol Cafuk(Steve), Charles Sweet (Rose), Jennifer Fraser (Robert), Joseph Sweet (Dorie), 21 grandchildren, 36 great – grandchildren, 10 great – great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

She was proceeded in death by her husband “Charlie”, 2 grandsons Jason Wathen and Chad Maks, 2 great grandsons Jacob and Jason Wolgamott, 1 great-great granddaughter Charley Cummings, and son in laws Danial Pruente and Raymond Burt.

Jessie loved quilting and sewing. She was a free hand artist and loved to porcelain paint.  She had a beautiful singing voice.  Dabbled in playing the organ and violin.  Always eager to learn something new at any age.  Anything from flying lessons in her 20s to ukulele lessons and furniture caning in her 80s.  Her greatest love was God and family.  She will be forever loved.

The family will receive friends Friday, June 4th, from 3 to 7 pm at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 5th at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church with Chaplain Dianne Myers officiating.  Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Eastport.
