Jean (Bedell) Griffin

Jean Louise (Bedell) Griffin, 93, of Bellaire, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Samaritas Senior Living in Williamsburg, MI.  She was born on October 29, 1927 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Lester and Lois (Hope) Bedell.

On February 14, 1947 she married the love of her life, Gene Griffin in Flint.  They raised their family together there, and Jean worked as a secretary in a doctor’s office.  They spent their summers in Bellaire before moving there permanently in 1973.  They also spent many warm winters together at different trailer parks in Florida.  Jean enjoyed sewing, quilting, basket making, crossword puzzles(even those without diagrams), and reading.

Jean is survived by her three children, Linda (Tom) Sheppard of Bellaire, Charles (Jaki) Griffin of Norcross, GA, and Scott (Marcy) Griffin of Gaines, MI; seven grandchildren, Scott Sheppard (Mellissa Powell) of Grand Rapids, MI, Susan Sheppard (Corbin Owens) of Belmont, MI, Ryan Griffin of Gaines, MI, Trina (Rob) French of Flushing, MI, Kelly (Jason) Speed of GA, Sean (Hadasa) Griffin of Ga, and Brandon Griffin of GA; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Gene Griffin.

There are no services planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local food pantry.

The family would like to thank Samaritas Senior Living, Heartland Hospice, and Chronic Care Management for the excellent care that was provided to Jean.
