James "Jim" Zeitler Sr.

James (Jim) Lee Zeitler Sr., 82, of Charlevoix, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026 in the comfort of his home.

He was born January 23, 1944, in Charlevoix, Michigan the son of Robert and Helen Zeitler. After attending Charlevoix Public Schools, Jim worked at various manufacturing jobs until he landed his career at Medusa Cement of Charlevoix where he worked until retirement of 42+ years. Early in life Jim enjoyed playing softball, golf, and bowling with his co-workers. He also loved to deer hunt and rabbit hunt with friends. Later on, Jim found a passion for walking, reading and watching the Tigers & Lions & Michigan Football.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Tina Zeitler, two children, James Zeitler and Jacqueline Zeitler and his favorite buddy, furbabie Jasper, sister Roberta (Ken) Whitley, 2 nephews Gregg Whitley (Michelle) and Jason Whitley (Linda) and their children, 7 grandchildren, Brooke (Cam) Canupp, Brandon Farmer, Bree Farmer, Isaac Zeitler, Malachi Zeitler, Lucas Zeitler, Christine Zeitler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Julie Zeitler Farmer and brothers Bill Zeitler & Gary (Tink) Zeitler.

Jim's family will celebrate his life privately.
