James H. Drys, 85, of Gaylord, formerly of Mancelona, passed away at the Brook in Gaylord.
He was born on March 26, 1936, in Dearborn, MI, the son of Carl and Minnie Drys.
Jim owned and operated Accurate Machine in Kalkaska for many years. He was a hard worker and loved to hunt but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
On April 7, 1956, in Dearborn, MI, he married Audrey D. Reese who survives. Also surviving are 5 children, Darryl (Marlene) Drys of Mancelona, Dwayne (Deb) Drys of West Branch, Tina (Tony) Rusiecki Grayling, Nancy Watkins of Mancelona, Donna (Craig) Conway of Mancelona, 10 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandson Ryan Manes, 4 siblings, Chuck, Jerry, Elaine, Laura and his parents.
Funeral service will take place on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Rev. Rich Van Beek officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in the spring in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona Township.
