James G. Dann

James G. Dan,  77, of Mancelona, passed away on October 2, 2026.

   Jim was born on December 9, 1948, in Mancelona, the son of Charles and Olga (Bailey) Dan.

   He was a lifelong resident of Mancelona and was employed at Derrer Oil and Propane for many years where he was an assistant manager.

   Jim was a devout Christian and a long time member of the Mancelona Free Methodist Church.   He enjoyed puzzles and spreading the word from the good book.

   Surviving are a sister Viva Dann of Mancelona, as well as many church family members which are too many to count.   

   Preceding him in death were his parents, Charles and Olga Dann, grandparents, Joseph and Viva Bailey, Ivan and Hilda Dann as well as his step-mother Charlotte Bailey.

   Visitation will be on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 12-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.

   Funeral services will be on Friday, October 9 at 3:00 p.m. also at the funeral home, with Pastor Patricia Tefft and Pastor Maurice Mallion officiating.

   Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
