Jacqueline Symons

Our beloved Jacqueline (Jackie) Symons left us peacefully on July 12, 2021 surrounded by her family and overlooking her treasured pine filled backyard with a hint of the Grass River.

Jackie was born 10-19-1949 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Mary Louise and Jack Wildman.  Jackie is a graduate of Cody High School, where she and her friends were lucky to be entertained by the artists from Motown such as Stevie Wonder, Supremes and Temptations.

Jackie later relocated to Northern Michigan, where as a child she had grown up visiting her great-grand parent’s resort on Lake Bellaire, “Fisherman’s Paradise; and her grand-parent’s turkey farm.   She reconnected with a childhood friend, John Symons, and they married in 1981, making this upcoming October their 40th anniversary.  Jackie and John were pillars of the community through Jackie’s work at the Northern Clipper for over 25-years, and John’s volunteerism at the fire department. Jackie loved being outdoors working in her garden, boating, walking, cross-country skiing and especially, sharing these experiences with friends and family.

Jackie was preceded by her mother Mary Louise Wildman; father Jack Wildman and sister Linda Warton.  She is survived by her husband John Symons, brother Doug (Jackie) Wildman, survived by children David (Mary) Head; daughter Cherri Head (Luis); Troy (Stephanie) Symons; Leroy (Shannon) Symons, grandchildren Megan; Jorden; Tyler, Zackary, Werner; Madison; Justin, Ashlyn, Joshua.  She is also survived by sister-in-law Marcy Wildman.
