Helen "June' Veldkamp

Helen “June” Veldkamp, 88, of Ellsworth, passed away on March 1, 2026. She was born on November 24, 1937, in South Arm Twp., the daughter of Ernest and Christine (Tornga) Brown.

June was a very musically inclined individual; her love for music was displayed through countless hours of playing piano for the church and for her family. When she was not playing music, you could find her enjoying her flowers, gardening, or volunteering her time in the church and community. June was outgoing and had a zest for life. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She will be missed by many.

June is survived by three children, Marla (Brian) Certa of Ellsworth, Marcia (John) Cohol of Naperville, IL, Mark (Deanna) Veldkamp of Banks Township, one sister, Betty Bennett of Hastings, MI, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her loving husband, Versile “Harold” Veldkamp, daughter, Manda Colbeck, brother, Frank Brown, three sisters, Lou Ann Purdy, Linda Gonder, Virginia VanDeWege.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 5-7pm, at the Christian Reformed Church in Ellsworth. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 6, at 11am, at the Christian Reformed Church, with a visitation taking place from 10am until the time of service. Interment will take place in the spring at the Ellsworth Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in June’s honor can be made to the Christian Reformed Church in Ellsworth or Grandvue Medical Care Facility.
