HELEN LOUISE BLISSETT, 87, of Bellaire, left our world on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2007 at the Bellaire home of her daughter and son in law. The daughter of Virgil and Frances (Gephart) Cottrell, she was born Jan. 16, 1920 in Paulding, Ohio. In Hicksville, Ohio on Sept. 14, 1955, she married Robert Blissett who died Oct. 18, 1991. A retired registered nurse, she had lived in Hicksville and the Alden and Rapid City areas before taking up residency with her daughter. She spent many years in nursing, retiring from her industrial nurses job in 1978. While living in the Alden area she was on the Library Board, member of HONORS, Deputy Twp. Clerk and Asst. Twp. Supervisor of Helena Twp. She and her husband Robert started the Senior Citizens Center and ran it for several years. She was also a member of the Clearwater Township planning and zoning board for several years. She was a life member of the Toledo chapter of the Eastern Star. Louise is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Billy) Sexton of Bellaire; two sisters, Marilyn Carstens of Chicago, Ill. and Betty (Robert) Highes of Fort Wayne, Ind; three grandsons; three great grandsons and two great granddaughters. She was preceded in death, along with her husband, by her parents; a brother Virgil Cottrell, Jr.; a sister Gertrude; and a step-son Robert,Jr in Vietnam. A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Bellarie Chapel of Mortensen Fuenral Homes with Rev. Dave Scott officiating. Interment will take place in the spring in Helena Twp. Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church.
