Guy Vallance

Guy Duane Vallance, 90, of East Jordan, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at his home.  He was born on August 29, 1932, in Charlevoix, MI, the son of John and Mildred (King) Vallance.

Guy graduated from East Jordan High School in 1950, and then went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He returned home to East Jordan in 1955 to raise his family and open his business, Vallance T.V., which he successfully ran for many years.  He also proudly served on the East Jordan Fire Department and EMS for 48 years, and was a member of the local VFW.

Guy always kept busy doing something, whether it was tinkering at his house, taking walks in the morning, or having a cup of coffee with his friends at McDonald’s, he never seemed to sit still for long.

Guy is survived by two children, Derrick (Tracie) Vallance of Houston, TX and Dorinda (Jeff) Piechocki of East Jordan; and four grandchildren, Alyssa Piechocki, Alec Piechocki, Nick Vallance, and Sam Vallance.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Charlotte Vallance; his parents, John and Mildred Vallance; his sister, Barbara Jean Brock; and two brothers, John Vallance and David Vallance.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in East Jordan.  He will be laid to rest with his wife Charlotte in Ellsworth Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Jordan EMS.
