Geraldine Clow

Geraldine Joahn Clow, 95, of Charlevoix, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix.  She was born on September 26, 1926 in Standish, MI, the daughter of Edward and Mamie (Doyle) Schwerin.

Geraldine graduated from Standish High School, and a few years later, on May 28, 1948, she married the love of her life, Delbert Clow, in Detroit.  They moved to Charlevoix for several years where they owned and operated Del’s Dairy Bar before moving back downstate.  She also worked at Food Fair in the meat service department as well as being a model for Hudson’s Department Store.  Upon retiring, they returned to Charlevoix permanently in 1984.

Geraldine loved to golf, proudly boasting that she could break 100. She also liked to bowl, and she and Del travelled far and wide to watch Charlevoix Raiders basketball games.  She attended the United Methodist Church in Charlevoix and Dearborn for many years, and recently she spent much of her time with various activities at the Petoskey Senior Center (Friendship Center).

Geraldine is survived by two children, Michael (Katherine Pitus) Clow and Gerri (Richard) Dziak, and a granddaughter, Deanna Dziak.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Delbert Clow Jr.; two brothers, Clarence and Clifford Schwerin; and four sisters, Marie Gasdritza, Gladys Spycher, June Fisk, and Betty Gavitt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15 at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Centers of Emmet County-Petoskey Center, 1322 Anderson Road, Petoskey, MI 49770
