Geraldine (Geri) Theresa Carroll, 83, of Charlevoix, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, in Charlevoix with family by her side. She was born on December 14, 1940, in Detroit, the daughter of Bernard and Helen Selk.
Geri graduated from Dominican High School in Detroit, and soon after began working as an administrator at AMT Corporation in Troy. On September 19, 1964, in Detroit, Geri married the love of her life, Joseph Carroll Sr. and they started a family in Grosse Pointe, eventually having three children together. Once they were all in school, she began working in billing at the diagnostics lab where Joe worked.
They built a vacation home in Charlevoix on Lake Michigan in 1976 and moved there permanently when they retired. Geri was a devout catholic and was an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, often volunteering her time. She loved spending time with her grandchildren any chance she could, which included cooking and baking their favorite meals and desserts. She also enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, reading, and traveling around the US over the years with Joe. Geri was a devoted and supportive wife, mother, sister, aunt, nana and friend and is known for her caring, loving soul.
Geri is survived by two daughters, Colleen Carroll- Noyes of Lexington, MI, and Kelley (Rick LaMarra) Carroll of Bellaire; two sisters, Arleen(John) Westhaus of Chicago, and Jeannette Kling of Charlevoix; three grandchildren, Kylee Carroll, Caera Noyes, and Keegan Noyes; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Carroll Sr.; and her son, Joseph Carroll Jr.
A visitation will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2nd at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Charlevoix with a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
