George McConnell

George David McConnell, 74, of Elmira, passed away on May 3, 2026.

Born on January 13, 1952, in Sarnia, Ontario, George was the son of George and Pansy (Huffman) McConnell.

George was a man who appreciated simple pleasures and the satisfaction of working with his hands. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he had a natural talent for tinkering and fixing things. Along the way, he developed a passion for blacksmithing, a craft that reflected his patience, creativity, and strong work ethic.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Rose McConnell, his son, David (Rebecca) McConnell of Clare, Michigan, and his grandson, Parker McConnell.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his two sisters, Judy Simpson and Rhoda Buck.

George will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.
