Gene McCaslin

Gene Jackson McCaslin, 73, of Kaleva, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 15, 2023.  He was born on March 8, 1950, in Pontiac, MI, the son of Roy and Nellie (Straight) McCaslin.

Gene enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.  Above all else, he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gene is survived by seven children, Robert (Nancy) McCaslin of Bath, New York, Cheryl Windish of Kaleva, Shirley Crane of Charlevoix, David (Tracey) Crane of Mancelona, Sandra McCaslin of Kaleva, Tresa McCaslin of Wellston, and Rubee McCaslin of Ludington; his sister, Betty (Dan) Pocock of Indiana; Phyllis Young and her family; and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lottie McCaslin, and his parents.

Graveside services with military honors will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, at Coldsprings Township Cemetery.
