Fisher Isaiah Bogard

Fisher Isaiah Bogard, 20, of Elk Rapids, passed away on May 13, 2025. He was born on December 7, 2004, in Petoskey, the oldest son of Andrew and Sara (Brown) Bogard.

Fisher was a loyal and loving big brother to Noah and Corbin. He was the cherished grandson of Skip (Pam) Brown of Traverse City and Robert and Norma Bogard of Bear Lake. He was a caring nephew to Carrie Brown (Eric Warnes) of Traverse City, Pam Hess of Arizona, and Penny Spencer (Mark Kellogg) of Suttons Bay. He is also remembered by his cousins, Jayden, Erin, and Adrian Spencer. He is preceded in death by his Mimi, Janet Brown; he is with her now in heaven.

Fisher was a true friend to many and will be deeply missed by his closest group of friends, who called themselves the “Hottie Bois.” This group included Ani Lugin, Charlie Parrish, John Vanderheide, Spencer Ball, Declan Shockley, Jared Barcenas, John Hawkins, Carter Veliquette, River Goss, Caleb Kerfoot, Corbin Murphy, and Charlie “Chetty” Holscher. His friends describe Fisher as genuine, funny, dependable, loyal, and brave.

He graduated from Elk Rapids High School in 2023 and attended the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City. He was proud to be a Deck Officer Cadet and was preparing for his first sea project aboard a commercial freighter. This was an experience he had long been excited for. He loved being on the water and shared a fondness for freighters with his family.

From a young age, Fisher had a plan! He had an adventurous spirit and a strong sense of purpose. He loved boating, snowboarding, and hiking with his family in national parks across the country. He was helpful, laid-back, and always eager to explore the world. He also loved soccer and shared this passion with his two younger brothers. The brotherhood he shared with Noah and Corbin was full of adventure and spirited competition. Fisher was a role model for his brothers and the love that bonded them together is unshakable. You could always find Team Bogard planning their next expedition.

Fisher found joy in hanging out with his Hottie Bois, camping with his family, sitting around a bonfire, playing disc golf with his brothers, gaming, or riding his one-wheel. He was a loyal University of Michigan sports fan and had a soft spot for animals, especially his favorite dog, Bode, and cat, Daisy.

Andy and Sara could not be prouder of their son Fisher, who had the best grin and heart of gold.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church in Elk Rapids where Fisher grew up as a cherished member of the congregation. Pastor Jim will officiate the service. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, May 19, from 5 to 8.

Memorial donations may be made to Freedom Builders of Traverse City, a charity near Fisher’s Popsie’s heart.

The family plans on a memorial bench to honor Fisher’s love of Elk Rapids Soccer. You can donate to the memorial by making checks out to Elk Rapids Boys Soccer.
