Elizabeth ”Liz” Owens

Elizabeth “Liz” Wallace-Owens,  68, of Alba, passed away on November 21, 2025.

   Liz was born on June 4, 1957, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Edward and Shirley (Demeter) Wallace.

   She volunteered for the Star Township Food Pantry and was an auxiliary member of the Star Township Fire Department.

   She enjoyed sewing, camping, tending to her plants,  and feeding all the outdoor wildlife.

   On January 2, 2005, in Mancelona, she married Daniel K. Owens who survives.   Also surviving are a daughter Krystal Owens (James Pettyjohn) of San Tan Valley AZ, her mother Shirley Wallace of Alba and 4 grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Hudson and Amelia Pettyjohn.

   Preceding her in death were her father Edward Wallace.

   A Celebration of her Life will take place on Saturday, November 29, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. at the Star Township Fire Hall.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Star Township Food Pantry, P.O. Box 141, Alba, MI,  49611.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
