Elaine D. Coulter, beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend, joined Jesus on September 18, 2025. She was born May 27, 1933 in Pontiac, the daughter of Charles and Ruth (Olson) Cronover.
Surviving are her children Janine Lex of Virginia Beach, VA, Jeffrey Wiltse of East Jordan, Krista Kay of Alanson, grandchildren Liam Wiltse, Devin Lex, Jordan Lex, Shane Bush, 4 great grandchildren Urban, Blake, Thomas, and River Lex, brother Robert Cronover, 5 stepchildren Marsha (Bert) Kulesza, Anne (David) Crawford, Mike (Virginia) Coulter, Tracey (Chip) Coulter, and Kelly (Robert) Ferguson. She will also be missed by the many young people who called her Gramma E, Grandma, and Aunt Elaine, whom she loved unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her husband Llewellyn “Bud” Coulter, son Mark E. Wiltse, granddaughter Milan Collins, her parents, and brothers Charles and Clyde Cronover.
Elaine was a wonderful grandmother who created educational environments and opportunities for many. She was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church of Central Lake and was also very involved in the Snowflake Spiritualist Community. Elaine ran several antique businesses throughout the years. She was an incredible pianist and meticulous knitter. She was very competitive at games and in her later years she looked forward to her weekly game night with friends. Elaine loved dogs and spent many years as a dog breeder. She enjoyed traveling and supporting the MSU Spartans, as she studied there as a young lady.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 23 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 24, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Central Lake with Pastor Gary Bekkering officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
