Eileen E. Schultz

Eileen E. (Bruso) Schultz of Elk Rapids, MI passed away peacefully Aug. 10, 2023, just months after celebrating her 100^th birthday.

   Eileen was born in Cheboygan, MI on Jan. 13, 1923 to Joseph and Eleanor (Nyland) Bruso.  On April 18^th, 1942 at St. Martins Church in Detroit, she married Elmer R. Schultz.  From there they lived in St. Clair Shores, Madison Heights, and Troy before retiring to the Elk Rapids area in 1985.

   Eileen was a member of St. Anastasia Church in Troy as well as Sacred Heart Church in Elk Rapids.  Eileen lived a full and busy life as a good mother and wife.  From many family gatherings to her joy of square dancing, she had no time to sit around.  Most important was her calling to serve the Church, as a volunteer where needed and as the Church’s Sacristan.  No task too small or large, her dedication to the Lord’s house was endless.

   She is survived by children David (Judy), Anne Marie (Eric) Richey and Dennis (Kim).  Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.  Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, son’s Ralph, Guy; grandchildren Eric and Matthew. 

   Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 16^th at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Elk Rapids with Rev. Robert J. Zuchowski presiding.  Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Memorial donations can be given to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church building fund, 143 Charles St., Elk Rapids, MI 49629.
