Edward Schneider

Edward Michael Schneider 76 of Atwood-Charlevoix, formerly of Gaylord, passed away peacefully on 10/18/2026 at his home. He was born on 10/06/1950 in Saginaw MI, the son of Alois and M. Phyllis (Corcoran) Schneider. 

Edward graduated from St. Stephen’s Catholic High School in Saginaw and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Ferris State University. In 1980 Edward married Sheila Carr, they raised four children in Gaylord. Edward worked selling beauty and barber supplies across Northern Michigan. He opened Hobby and Toys Galore in Gaylord which he proudly operated for many years. Edward co-started an RC Car Racing Club in Gaylord which he ran on Sundays at the Otsego County Fairgrounds. After retiring he built a log home in the Antrim Dells Community.

Edward is survived by his wife, Sheila Carr, four children, Gabriel Bober (Amy Ward) of Traverse City, Jessica (Brandon) Croney of Marquette, Emily (David) Silverstein of Traverse City and Lisa Schneider (Mathew Coffee) of Atwood-Charlevoix; six grandchildren, Reese, Hailey, Madalyn, Sophia, Benjamin and Travis; two brothers, George (Betty Jo) Schneider of Midland and Robert Schneider of Saginaw. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers, Judith Schneider, Janet Thomas, Thomas Schneider and Richard Schneider.

Honoring Edward’s wishes there will be no funeral services.
