Dr. Thomas Laskey

Thomas D. Laskey, M.D., 48, of Traverse City, passed away January 1, 2013. Tom was born on August 7, 1964 in Detroit, the son of James and Carol Laskey. Tom attended the University of Hawaii and proudly graduated from Thomas Jefferson Medical College with his Doctorate degree. He owned and operated the Cedar Run Family Medicine practice in Mancelona since 2007. He enjoyed playing hockey and being with family. His pride and joy were his kids. On December 31, 2006 in Traverse City, he married the love of his life Monaca Burley. He is also survived by his children, Jessica, Ariel, Taylor, Emilee, Carlee, and Shaylia; two grandchildren, Urijah and Finnley; father, James Laskey of Livonia; three siblings, Michael (Reba) Laskey of Harbor Springs, James Laskey of Atlanta, GA and Susan Laskey of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Laskey and father in law, Emmett Burley. A Celebration of Tom's Life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Antrim Church of Christ, with Pastor Mark McCool officiating.
