Donald Richard Frost

Donald R. Frost, 90 of Alden, passed away February 18, 2024 surrounded by his family.  He was born May 26, 1933 in Flint the son of Nathan and Beatrice (Cook) Frost.  

   Don was extremely independent and moved out on his own at the young age of 12.  After high school he served in the United States Army. He was a hard worker and loyal employee of GM, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service.  Don always kept a garden wherever he lived and enjoyed working a good puzzle.  He was an avid bowler and loved to hunt and fish.  

   He loved his family and will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 70 years, Shirley (Vargason) Frost,  his daughter Theresa (Gary) Hurd, daughter-in-law Debbie Frost, grandchildren Matthew (Alisha) Hurd, Michael (Laura) Hurd, Nicole (Ron) Love, Courtney (Brian) Majszak, 11 great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Phyliss Sanders, Margaret (Joe) Frame, Connie (Jimmy) Stevenson, Donna Kellaway, brother-in-law Marshall Delay, nephews Lyle Frost and Russell McDermitt, niece Gail Nowaczyk, and many other dear nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Richard Frost, his siblings Marie Marcoux, Russell Frost, Irene Frost, Mary Harmon, Lyle Frost, sisters-in-law Clarice Tompkins and Wanda Delay, brothers-in-law Jerry Sanders, Ron Kellaway, and Gary Tompkins.

   Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24^th at 1 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Kalkaska with Pastor Dan Willis officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  A luncheon will follow.
