Debra Wyatt

Debra Ann Wyatt, 66, of East Jordan, formerly of Bloomfield Hills and Royal Oak, MI, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, with her beloved family and caregivers at her side. She was born on April 10, 1958, in Pontiac, Mi, the daughter of Byron and Arciel (Roy) Wyatt.

Debra attended Oakland County Schools completing the special education program when she was twenty-six. She then entered New Horizons Rehabilitation Services programs which trained her to work in a wide variety of different jobs over the years. In 2018, she moved to East Jordan to be closer to family and attend Bergmann Center and then NCEC (North Country Enrichment Center).

Debra took great pride in competing in the Special Olympics, especially swimming and bowling, in which she earned many gold medals at the state level. She enjoyed taking trips with her family and getting to stay in hotels wherever they went. She made sure they took a trip to Mackinac City every year where she would sample every piece of chocolate fudge that she could find. She also liked watching musicals and going to live shows and concerts.

Debra is survived by her mother, Arciel Wyatt of Boyne City; her sister, Jan Wyatt Anderson of Boyne City; two brothers, Scott Wyatt of Charlevoix and Keith (Mary) Wyatt of Mundelein, IL; six nieces; and 2 nephews; and Fred Bartsch, her boyfriend of nearly 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Byron Wyatt; and her nephew, Steven Wyatt.
