Dr. David Kenyon Suzor 83, of Charlevoix passed away on May 22nd. Dave was born in Toledo OH on March 2, 1940 to Lee and Eleanor Suzor.
In Toledo, Dave attended Libbey High School, graduating in 1958 before attending Michigan State University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1965.
During his time at MSU, Dave met his wife Nancy J Niedermeier. In 1966 Dave and Nancy moved to Houghton Lake MI where Dave started his practice at Houghton Lake Animal Hospital. Together they raised three children, Cindy, Todd and Tim. Dave retired in 1997 after 31 years in practice. Dave and Nancy relocated to Charlevoix MI in 2014 to be near Nancy’s Store, Elements.
With this loss, the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians are missing one of their biggest fans. An avid fan of many sports, baseball was by far his favorite. Dave was always sure to be in attendance for his children’s many sports. In more recent years, Dave and Nancy traveled to watch their grandson’s many baseball, football and lacrosse games.
Dave loved road trips, camping and fishing. Many holiday weekends were spent at Interlochen State Park where he fished his favorite fishing holes on Green Lake. Travels took Nancy and Dave to the New England coast and to Arizona, always taking in a baseball game where they could.
Dave is survived by his wife Nancy, children Cindy (Steve) Bolling of Spring Lake MI, Todd Suzor of Grand Rapids MI, Tim (Janine) Suzor of Scottsdale AZ, grandson’s Brant David and Kenyon Vernon. Sister, Jane Owens of Phoenix, Brother and Sister in law, Jon and Jennifer Niedermeier and several nieces.
