Daniel O'Connell

Daniel Patrick O'Connell, 77, entered into the presence of God, surrounded by family on March 30, 2024. He was born March 21, 1947, to Joseph and Pearl (Merschman) O'Connell in Lansing, Michigan. 

Dan worked many years at Anchor Danly, formerly known as Lamina. He loved his family and had an infectious personality that always made people feel welcome. He attended Freedom House Church and cultivated many loving friendships throughout his life. Dan's strong faith in the Lord guided every aspect of his life. 

Dan enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and putting together puzzles. He also had a knack for collecting and repairing Bibles, which was something near and dear to his heart. 

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Rhonda, his daughters Lorie (David) Bulmann of Ellsworth, MI, Sherry (Thomas) Mann of Ellsworth, MI, Sarah (Justin) Coen of Charlevoix, MI, and their mother, Donna Parisot of Ellsworth, MI, and granddaughters, Lillian and Abigail. Also surviving are children Angela Thayer of Petoskey, MI, and Robert (Tiffany) Massey Jr. of Bellaire, MI., and grandchildren Hayden, Carter, Genevieve, Mallory, and Camille. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joe O'Connell, Jr., and his infant grandson Corban Massey.

A memorial service to honor his life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, at the Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix.
