Cory Smith

Cory Reid Smith, 40, of Bellaire formerly of Farmington Hills, died November 2, 2009 due to complications of diabetes. Cory is survived by his mother Mary E. Watrous Smith of Bellaire, father Earl Smith of White Lake, brother Todd Smith of Howell, sister Barrie Bowman Duquet of Howell, grandmother Wilma Watrous Yettaw, aunt Sandra Watrous Blake of Bellaire, uncle Donald (Sally)Watrous of Bellaire, 8 nieces and nephews, and many other supportive family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Harry Watrous, Raymond and Edith Smith, uncles Daryl Watrous and Bill Blake. Cory attended Farmington High School graduating in 1987, and obtained a degree of Business from Eastern Michigan University. He had operated a custom painting and woodworking business for many years. He enjoyed fishing, rock polishing and being with his dogs Sadie and Trinity. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, November 11, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
