Clifford P. Napont

Clifford P. Napont,  89, of Charlevoix, passed away on December 19, 2025.

   Clifford was born on November 19, 1936, on Beaver Island, the son of Bernard and Agnes (Nanigaw) Napont.

   He was raised with strong Catholic values which he holds to this day.   He was a member of the Knight of Columbus and attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlevoix.

   Clifford had a wonderful personality and was always willing to help others.   For many years he worked as a fisherman for John Cross in Charlevoix and was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

   Surviving are 2 grandchildren, Elora (Mitchie) Virtus of Charlevoix and Lake Orion, MI, Joseph Napont of Charlevoix, 3 sisters, Mary Ann Boulton of Charlevoix, Rita Blacklock of Detroit, and Marilyn Napont of Petoskey.

   Preceding him in death were a son Will Wingo, 3 brothers, Melvin, Joseph and Richard Napont as well as his parents.

   Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with Fr. Peter Wigton officiating.

   Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until beginning of services.

   Burial will take place in the spring in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Charlevoix.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
