Christina Marie Farmer

Christina Marie Farmer, 69 of Mancelona MI, passed away peacefully at home on March 26th after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer, surrounded by her loving husband and children.

Chris was born on July 23rd, 1956 in Grand Rapids, MI to Ray and Dorothy Harrington. On December 5th, 1997 she married Wayne Farmer her devoted husband of 28 years. Chris was a devoted wife and loyal friend but above all else she was a proud and adoring grandmother.

Surviving is her husband Wayne, her children Jason (Jessica) Helwig, Lisa (Pete) Grody, Sarah Forbes; and her beloved grandchildren, Taylor Grody, MaKenzie Grody, Gwenevere Helwig, Lola Helwig, Jett Helwig, Reagan Forbes and her great granddaughter LeiLani Gilford who were the light of her life.

Chris found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved road trips to the casino, spending time at craft shows with her best friend, tending to her chickens, camping trips with her husband and doting on her grandchildren. She cherished warm days with her toes in the sand and wore a tan many admired. She lived with kindness, strength, and honesty that defined who she was.

A service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Mortensens Funeral Home Mancelona.

Chris will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
