Charles "Brad" LaPeer

Charles “Brad” LaPeer, 57 of Central Lake, passed away July 23, 2020 at home after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer.  He was born Aug. 17, 1962 in Holland the son of Niles and Elnor (Rose) LaPeer.

Brad graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1981.  He stayed local to his roots living in Ellsworth and Central Lake all his life.  He enjoyed fishing, football, all things sports and the Maize and Blue!  Brad was a dedicated employee of Bay Shore Steel Works, having worked there for 37 years.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother Elnor LaPeer, his children Ryan LaPeer, Alyssa (David) Cheplicki, and Rachel LaPeer all of Central Lake.  Also surviving are his grandchildren Iziah and Gabriel Potter of Central Lake, his brothers James (Linda) Zoulek of East Jordan, Robert (Vicki) LaPeer of Central Lake, his sisters Charlotte (Eric) Hanson of East Jordan, Tammy (John) Kenney of East Jordan, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother Kenneth LaPeer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, at 11 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.  A luncheon will follow at the VFW hall. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  The family will also receive friends Thursday, July 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions can be given to a charity of ones choice in support of animals.
