Carmin Renee Martin, age 60 of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, surrounded by the ones she loved most. Born on June 26, 1965, in Charlevoix, Michigan. Carmin was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Linda Martin.

Carmin was a beacon of warmth and love in the lives of all she touched. Known for her generous, loving and comforting nature, she was deeply admired and cherished by her family and friends. She carried her heart on her sleeve and always found joy in the happiness of others.

Carmin found great joy in crafting, traveling and most importantly, spending time with her loved ones. Her creativity and love for adventure were a source of inspiration and joy for those around her. Carmin’s family was her proudest accomplishment, and she nurtured and cared for them with immense love and devotion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Linda and Robert Martin, sister Michelle Beck; brothers-in-law, Gary Smith and Jack Raad and nephew Ken Smith Jr.

Carmin is survived by her soul partner, Doug Smith Sr; her four-legged kid Buster, children Courtney Tracy, Carlee Tracy, Doug Smith Jr. (Kim), and Daniel Smith. She was a doting grandmother to Michael Bentley Tracy, Atlas Allen, Airik (Anna) Smith, Kyleigh Smith, Breanna Smith, and Kamrynn Smith. Carmin also leaves behind her siblings Robin Bean (Daniel), Ryan Martin, Kelly Martin, and Christian Martin (Jennifer).

She will also be fondly remembered by her extended family Brian Beck, Dorothy Smith; Bruce and Pam Smith; Ken and Yvonne Smith; Deb Raad; and Tim and Jennifer Smith

Carmin’s legacy will continue to live on through the lives of those she deeply touched and influenced. Her unyielding love, compassion and generosity will forever be remembered and cherished.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, at Lakeview Cemetery in Bellaire.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you hold your loved ones closer, take that trip you’ve wanted to but waited for the perfect time, or even create something you will treasure forever.

Carmin’s joyous spirit, her love for her family and her generous nature will forever echo in our hearts. Even though she is no longer among us, her light will forever shine in our lives.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.
