Brian "Vern" David

Brian “Vern” David, 66, of Charlevoix passed away on April 19, 2026.

He was born on May 13, 1959, in Petoskey, Michigan. Following his graduation from high school, Brian served in the U.S. Army, from which he received an honorable discharge. After his military service, he held various jobs before opening his own carpet store that he operated for several years.

Brian enjoyed visiting with family and friends and always had a good story to tell. His presence will be deeply missed by many.

Brian loved the outdoors, riding his Harley, and was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan—Go Pack Go!!

Brian is survived by his daughters, Katie (Brandon) Hodnett of Phoenix, AZ, Brooke (Robert) McLeod of East Jordan, and Sara (Chris) Christensen of Boyne City; his sisters, Etta Jett of West Plains, MO, Bobbie Knoblett of West Plains, MO, Brenda David (Krista Fowler) of Charlevoix, and Sharon (Tom) Jepson of Ohkay Owingeh, NM; his brothers, Gene (Sheri) David of Stanton, MI, and Don David of Midland, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin & Betty and his life partner, Nancy.

A private remembrance and celebration of Brian’s life will be held at a future date.
