Billie "Jo" Wright

Billie “Jo” Wright went to meet Jesus February 21, 2021 at the age of 79. Billie was born in  Bradford, TN on June 6, 1941. On May 5, 1961 she married the love of her life, Marion “Sonny”  Wright who survives her. Also surviving are her sisters, Joanne, Paulette, and in-laws Billy  Wayne, Helen, and Don.

Billie resided in Charlevoix for over 50 years after her husband was stationed at the Air Force  Base in Bay Shore, Michigan. Billie’s career in hospitality included managing many favorite  local restaurants including, Grey Gables, Leutheusers, Nanny’s, Villager Pub, and Kelsey B’s.  She was known for her hard work, ethical no-nonsense leadership and feisty disposition. Her  unique ability to connect with the “regular folk” endeared her to all.

Preceded in death by her parents, Roszella and Otis Connell, sisters, Mary Reynolds, Rosie  Hood, Vivian Tharp and brother Gene Connell.

Billie’s life was marked by compassion for the suffering of others as she herself endured the  sorrow of losing 5 babies - all of whom were sure to be first to greet her at heaven’s gates  when she arrived. Her faith in Jesus will remain her greatest accomplishment and she would  have it no other way.

In honor of her love for Skip (her pomeranian prince) donations can be made at the Charlevoix  Humane Society. No services are planned at this time.
