Barbara Janet Stafford

Barbara J. Stafford 91 of Charlevoix and formerly of Algonac, passed away March 2, 2026 at home. She was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Detroit, the daughter of Arnold and Viola (Body) Taylor. 

Barbara was a kind, quick witted, loving mother and grandmother. She had a great sense of humor and always made everyone feel welcome. She decorated her trailer for every holiday, hosting lavish meals and baking the best breads to share with her family. She enjoyed playing cards with them, working in her garden and in her yard. Barb had a room full of plants and was known for her green thumb. As she got older she enjoyed knitting and crocheting too. Barb was very active in her grandchildren's lives and will be greatly missed. 

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Pamela Bergmann, her sister-in-law Pamela Taylor, her grandchildren Andrea, Aimee, Todd (Christy), Ryan (Shannon), Matthew, Brandon, Kallie (Joe), great grandchildren Jayden, Quinn, Admasu, Zahra, Naima, Morgan, Kelsey, Lesley, Madison, and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell (Bud) Stafford, daughter Kristen Rushe, her parents, her siblings Joanne, Bonnie, Betty, June, Leona, and Jerry. Arrangements are in the care of the Charlevoix Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
