Barbara Scully

Barbara Scully 89 of Charlevoix, passed away June 23, 2023 at Munson Healthcare in Charlevoix.  She was born Sept. 28, 1933 in Port Huron the daughter of William and Virginia (Munro) Jury.

Barbara graduated from Port Huron High and attended Port Huron Business College.  She was an engineer for Michigan Bell for many years until she retired.  She lived in St. Clair and Marine City before moving to Charlevoix 30 years ago.  She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Charlevoix Kiwanis Club.  She also served on the board of Club 77 in the early 90's in Charlevoix.  

As a young woman Barbara loved to play tennis and was a champion in several tournaments in Port Huron.  She enjoyed bowling too and one time bowled a 300, the perfect game.  Later in life she enjoyed traveling, going to the casino an going out to dinner.

Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband Frank Brabaw and her second husband Dr. William Scully.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ron Jury, sister Sally (Jury) Wynkoop, stepson Frank Brabaw Jr., step grandson Chip Bertiaux and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her beloved dog Stormie, step daughter Nancy (Charles) Bertiax, step granddaughter Betsy Bertiaux, and step great grandkids Steve Brabaw, Jeff Brabaw, Elaine Brabaw, several nieces and nephews including Vickie (Ron) McWatters who was her caretaker for several years.
