Barbara J. Evans

Barbara J. Evans, 67, of Cheboygan, passed away on November 22, 2025.

   Barbara was born on June 26, 1958, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Robert Miller and Hazel Maurer.

   Barbara was a helper to everyone.    She was a social butterfly, she was always up for adventures and in her younger years she loved going out on rides on the Harley.    She enjoyed playing card and board games with friends and family but most of all she cherished spending time with her granddaughters and taking them on trips.

   Surviving are 2 children, J.R. Evans of Central Lake, Amanda Evans (Joe) of Boyne City, 2 brothers, Jeff Miller of East Jordan, Paul (Peggy) Miller of IN, 2 sisters, Diane Miller (Lee) of Mancelona, Sue (Dave) Smith of Bellaire as well as 3 granddaughters, Alexis, Elizabeth and Haylee.

   Preceding her in death were her husband Leon Evans, a daughter Mary Ann Miller, 2 brothers, Tony and Randy Miller, a sister, Linda Organek as well as her parents.

   She was beyond loved and missed by so many nieces and nephews, countless long term friends and had a special connection to Patty who helped her get through the end of her life.

   Funeral services will take place on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.   Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. until time of services.

   Burial will take place in Southern Cemetery, Central Lake Township.

   Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

   Arrangements are in the care of the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
