Andrew "Andy" Wilson

Andrew Leon Wilson, 67, of Charlevoix, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born in 1957 in Saginaw, MI, the son of Bryant and Ella Mae (DePrekel) Wilson.

Andy graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School in Saginaw and obtained his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and was on the MSU basketball team. He attended Northwood Institute where he also played basketball and then attended Saginaw Valley State University where he earned his MBA. Andy began his professional career at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon and then returned to Saginaw where he served as Vice President at Saginaw General Hospital. During his tenure at Saginaw General, he was the driving force behind the expansion to Saginaw General North as well as the Anderson Eye Institute. Over the course of his career in healthcare administration, he served as CEO of Synergy at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA, St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND, Excellus in Rochester, NY, and Crescent Health in Ashville, NC, before retiring to Charlevoix in 2021.

Andy was an avid sports fan, and always rooted for the Michigan State Spartans, but he would watch just about any team playing any sport. He was also a dedicated weight lifter and enjoyed going to the gym and continued to beat many of his previous lift records. Andy enjoyed traveling with Barb, especially to the Caribbean and attending live music performances of many varieties. He was a rock for his family and would do anything he could to help them. He will be sorely missed.

Andy is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Barbara Wilson; his daughter, Devan (David) Butler of Lake Ann, MI, and their children, Aubrey and Grayson; two brothers, Martin (Mary) Wilson of Saginaw, MI, and Jeffrey (Michelle) Wilson of Suttons Bay, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
