Aaron Scott (AD) Dishong, 58, of Ellsworth, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 3, 1965, in Lakeview, MI to Herbert and Gloria (Abbey) Dishong.
In 1975, Aaron’s family moved north to Charlevoix and lived on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan. He attended Charlevoix schools where he acquired many lifelong friends, graduating in 1984.
On September 14, 1984, he married his one true love, Jill Johnstone. They started their new life together in Charlevoix. In 1995 Aaron began construction on their forever home on Old Dixie Highway. With assistance from friends and family, barbeques and beer, the home was completed and became a place for many memorable gatherings.
An avid golfer, it was kismet that he spent his career on the golf course; first with the City of Charlevoix and then with the Charlevoix Country Club. When not golfing, watching golf, or thinking about golf, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending his nephew’s sporting events, entertaining, and enjoying life with family and friends.
Aaron is survived by his wife, Jill, siblings, Curt (Lynne) Dishong of Lakeview, Brenda Dishong of Ellsworth, Sally (Paul) Stripay of Charlevoix, brothers-in-law, Scott Johnstone of Charlevoix, Justin (Kriss) Zuidema of Kenosha, WI, sisters-in-law, Shelly Johnstone of Ellsworth, and Valerie (Mark) Snyder of Charlevoix, brother-cousin, Don Abbey of Lakeview, sister-niece, Terri Teller (Bill) of Lake Orion, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, Janet Geary, and father-in-law Robert Johnstone.
A celebration of Aaron’s life will be held in September.
