Virginia Bascom, of Charlevoix, went to be with the Lord and her parents S.A. & Margaret Bascom on Wednesday, November 7, 2019, at Grandvue Medical Care Facility in East Jordan, Michigan.
Ginny, as she liked to be called, was born in Eckford, Michigan, to S.A. and Margaret Bascom.
Ginny graduated from Jonesville Community High School and received her cosmetology license in 1953.
Ginny’s greatest joy were her siblings and helping others. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, drawing, painting, and cooking.
Besides her parents Ginny was preceded in death by two sisters, Ethel Gabbard and Lois Warner, two brothers, Michael and John Bascom, three brother-in-law’s Benton Gabbard, Louis Warner, and Don Dixon.
Ginny is survived by her siblings, Elaine (David) Houseworth, Shirley Dixon, Marilyn (Eugene) Allen, Robert (Judy) Bascom, Joyce (John) Buckmaster, Raymond (Gwen) Bascom, Irene (Lionel) McClanaghan, Patricia (Robert) Prater, Sue (John) Prater, Charles (Betty) Bascom, Richard Bascom, Debra (Edwin) Wagonschutz and J.C. (Mari) Bascom, and her sister-in-law Louise Bascom. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, along with many great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
Memorial Contributions in Virginia’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
